Naked Smoky Palette

Urban Decay Naked Smoky
If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter you will know I have been excited for the launch of this palette since the news was first announced at the beginning of June.
I was lucky enough to be invited to the Smoky pre-launch at the House of Fraser where I picked up the palette along with a couple of other products.

I have a lot of love for the Urban Decay palettes, especially the Naked range but I do think Urban Decay are on to a winner with this one.
This is my favourite of the Naked palettes for a couple of reasons.
First the packaging, which is beautiful to look at, doesn’t seem as bulky as the other palettes and has a magnetic closing mechanism. As this is not as bulky it does feel a lot lighter to carry around too.
Another thing I just love is the order of the shadows, normally they are a little bit all over the place but this time the different types of shadows have been put together making it easier to use.
there are 3 types of shadow, 4 micro-glitters on the left, 4 metallic shades in the middle and 4 matte colours to the right hand side.

Finally, the main thing that puts this palette to the top of my favourite list is the colour and usability of each shade.
The colours in each palette all seem to follow a theme, Naked 2 was mainly golds and browns and Naked 3 has more of a pinky colour scheme but the colours in smoky all seem a lot cooler meaning you can do a cool grey smoky eye. Saying that there are still your golds and browns so if you do prefer a warmer look it is still possible.

As always, a Urban Decay double ended brush is included.
I have seen a few reviews stating if you he the other palettes you do not need this one but I do disagree, this has so many new shades that can be used for a subtle smoky day look or a more exaggerated evening look.
Urban Decay Brow Beater

What I didn’t know until the House of Fraser event was there are more new products being released other than the Smoky palette.
The Brow Beater is one of them, this is a microfine brow pencil that also has a brow brush on the other end.
I normally use a wax or powder to do my eyebrows but after using this a couple of times I think I may have been converted.

I bought the Brow Beater in Warm Brown and I have found my brows are looking beautiful.
They look naturally thicker than normal as the wax always makes my eyebrows look quite severe but the pencil makes them look a lot softer and natural.

This is one of the older Urban Decay products but it is still one of the best!
I have used this before and I was running low so I thought I’d better pick up another whilst at the event as you can’t use the Smoky palette without thick, black lashes.

Have you bought the Smoky Palette? What do you think of it, new favourite or not worth the hype?
