I actually started using the Bumble and Bumble Thickening range over 2 months ago and I have found my hair really does look and feel a lot thicker.
I bought the thickening shampoo, conditioner, mousse and hairspray to try and get the full thickening affects. Due to the prices of each individual product in this range, before I bought these products I did do a lot of research. I read a lot of mixed reviews where people mentioned the smell being quite strong and their hair feeling quite dry after use, luckily I still went ahead and purchased these products and I’m glad I did.
I quite like the smell of the products and my hair did not feel dry at all after use, I also found that you do not need a lot of the shampoo or conditioner at all which means although they come in quite small bottles it really does go a long way!
I wish I could say I am still using these products (especially for the price I paid!) but unfortunately I did find that after I had my hair dyed with the bright colours, after the first wash my hair looked noticeably faded and there was a lot of colour coming out when I was washing my hair.
I think I was very lucky when I first started using these products as I had brown and blue ombre and didn’t notice any colour difference but with the bright colours I did notice it was fading my hair far too quickly. I am not aware from reading any reviews if this happens to coloured hair that has not been dyed pastel or bright colours though.
If you do have thinner hair and would like to try thickening products I would definitely recommend these…but only if you don’t mind a small amount of colour loss with each wash.
Overall I think they are brilliant and I am still using the mousse and hairspray but I am now on the look out for an alternative that does not strip my hair colour.
Have you tried these or any other thickening products? If you have let me know, I would love to know what products you use so I can give them a try!
