As much as I love the heat and the sun in the summer now that the weather has turned, X Factor has started and knitwear is in all of the shops I am super excited for autumn and winter.
Cozied up in comfy jumper dresses, multiple layers and a different pair of boots every day, autumn is probably my favourite season of the year. The autumn/winter colour palette is one that gets me every year, whether it is clothing or make up. Burnt oranges, berry reds and deep purples are my go to, between the Urban Decay Naked Heat Pallete and the Violet Voss Ride or Die I’ve already been practicing different autumnal eye looks.
I have already started my autumn/winter wardrobe, the first piece was this Berry Red Jumper Dress from Tobi. I can see my bank balance is in for a shock with the amount of knitwear I have been eyeing up online and in stores.
As much as I do love the autumnal weather, the one thing I wish we didn’t get along with the sunny but cold days is the rain. Got the love the Great British weather! I am a lover of suede boots and layers but this is hard to wear with the fear of suede being ruined, and the fact a waterproof jacket that barely goes with any of my layered outfits.
Many people don’t like the dark mornings and evenings, I do love it. The daily tasks I find myself undertaking after a long day in the office is making some warming and filling food then lighting the house up like Blackpool illuminations with tonnes of fairy lights, candles and the living room fire. Not only that but a hot bath with a book and a glass of wine is so much more enjoyable when the weather is moody and miserable.
Another autumnal staple is Halloween!
Horror movies, dressing up and special effects make up, a few of the things I love all rolled into one event. A couple of years ago I dabbled with a bit of special effects, read gory, dress up for a party but this year I am hoping to create a series of Halloween and makeup related posts so I can share my creativity. And plus then there is a reason to sit and make myself look like a glam jack-o-lantern or bloody vampire.
These are just a few of my autumn favourites, I’m sure there are many more that I haven’t listed but we could be here all day!
